The president decides, “Pakistan joins the world in celebrating International Women’s Day to highlight women’s resilience and their contributions to shaping societies and driving progress,” he said in a statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which was observed on March 8.

He noted that the theme for this year, “For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,” reaffirmed the necessity of working together to guarantee that all women and girls have equal access to opportunities and rights.

Women make up about half of our population, and their empowerment is crucial to the advancement of our country, the president stated. Women have equal rights and opportunities in societies that are more resilient, successful, and peaceful.

According to him, entire communities gain when women have access to leadership positions, economic opportunity, and education. He continued by saying that many women still have to deal with discrimination, assault, and obstacles that prevent them from fully participating in society.

“We have taken important actions over the years, such as passing legislation prohibiting gender-based discrimination, workplace harassment, and domestic violence,” he stated. Protections have also been reinforced by specialized courts and hotlines for victims of gender-based abuse. In addition to implementing economic efforts to support financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy for women, Pakistan has taken action to enhance the representation of women in public institutions, the judiciary, politics, and law enforcement.

“We should make sure that society is fair and inclusive and take additional measures to enhance policies that support women’s economic independence, safety, and education,” he stated. Equal opportunity, fair pay, and safe working conditions for women should also be provided by our private sector and businesses. We can create a more robust, forward-thinking, and equitable society for coming generations by guaranteeing women’s equality in rights and opportunities.

He said, “Let us reaffirm our commitment to empower every woman to help her achieve her full potential on this International Women’s Day.”
