India blocks Instagram accounts: The Instagram accounts of Pakistan cricket team players Babar Azam and wicket keeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan have been blocked in India.
According to the Hindustan Times, Instagram users are receiving this message when opening their profiles: “Not available in India. We have restricted this content as per a legal request.”
According to the report, the move has been taken under a “legal request” related to security concerns and sensitive situations. Earlier, the Instagram account of Olympic medalist athlete Arshad Nadeem had also been blocked in India.
The move comes at a time when India has taken a tough stance against Pakistani social media accounts during the recent tensions. Several Pakistani YouTube channels and Instagram accounts of celebrities have been blocked in India.
