Babar Azam’s star: In the National T20 Cup, Babar Azam and Naseem Shah’s Lahore Blues were defeated by Karachi.
In the match played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, fast bowler Naseem Shah and former captain Babar Azam turned to domestic cricket to regain form, but here to the two international players failed to lead their team to victory.
Both Babar Azam and Naseem Shah were rested for the New Zealand tour as they have been struggling due to their continuous poor form. Babar, who scored 87 runs in two innings during the Champions Trophy, scored just 22 runs off 17 balls while representing Lahore in his second match of the National T20.
Contrarily, Naseem Shah also failed to show a significant performance, he conceded 41 runs in 4 overs and could not take any wickets. Chasing a target of 172 runs against Karachi, the Lahore Blues team was bundled out for 134 runs in 18.5 overs, this was Lahore Blues’ first defeat in the tournament.
Batting first, Karachi Whites had made a total score of 171/5 in the stipulated 20 overs, in which Saud Shakeel played an innings of 73 runs off 52 balls.
