Elon Musk’s wealth: For Elon Musk, the richest man in the world and counselor to US President Donald Trump, 2025 was not a particularly prosperous year.
Elon Musk’s wealth has dropped by $132 billion in 2025, according to private TV operator Geo News. In actuality, Elon Musk lost $29 billion on March 10 alone, bringing his total value down to $301 billion, today.
Elon Musk had $433 billion at the beginning of the year, and it appears that his planned cost-cutting initiatives for the US government aren’t doing well for his own businesses. At $486 billion, his fortune hit a record high in December 2024.
On March 10, Elon Musk lost $29 billion as a result of a 15% decline in the share price of his company, Tesla.
Remarkably, Elon Musk owns 21% of Tesla’s stock, and 68% of his overall fortune is associated with Tesla stock. Even though his wealth has dropped by $132 billion in just three months, Elon Musk remains the world’s richest person. With 216 billion dollars, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, comes in second. For Jeff Bezos, too, March 10 was a bad day, as his worth dropped by $4.21. On this ranking, Mark Zuckerberg ranks third with 211 billion dollars, followed by Frenchman Bernard Arnault in fourth place with 183 billion dollars and Larry Ellison in fifth place with 169 billion dollars.
