Increase in interest rates: The Central Directorate of National Savings has increased the rate of return on national savings schemes.
According to the new rate, the return on short-term savings certificates has increased from 10.81 percent to 10.96 percent, while the rate on defense savings certificates has reached 12.15 percent. Similarly, the rate on Behbood Savings Certificate, Pensioner Benefit Account and Shuhada Family Welfare Account has increased to 13.68 percent. The return on Sara Islamic Term Account and Sarwa Islamic Savings Account has been increased to 10.44 percent, while the return on savings account rate has been reduced by 100 basis points and the new rate has been set at 10.5 percent. It should be noted that the Monetary Policy Committee of the State Bank has announced to maintain the policy rate at 12 percent.
