It was revealed: The current government has been revealed to have imported 50,000 tons of sugar from India.
According to the daily Umit, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan presented the details of imported sugar in the National Assembly for the first year of the current government, in which it was revealed that 50,000 tons of sugar were imported from India.
The Commerce Minister said that 3,140 metric tons of sugar were imported from March 2024 to January 2025, spending more than $3 million on sugar imports.
He said that sugar was imported from Malaysia, Germany, Thailand, UAE, USA, UK, Denmark, China, France, Switzerland and South Korea, while Pakistan also imported 50,000 tons of sugar from India.
