NADRA stops CNIC service

NADRA stops CNIC service, According to an original media report, the National Database and Registration Authority(NADRA) has officially unrestricted CNIC services in General Post services(GPO’s) across Pakistan. The decision was taken due to low operation by the public and wide lack of mindfulness. NADRA had taken this step three times ago to grease access to crucial services to the public, including renewal of National Identity Card, address update and changes in connubial status. For this purpose, NADRA had set up devoted counters in GPO’s of major metropolises including Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad under a 10- time agreement with Pakistan Post.

According to the report, despite furnishing essential services and successfully reducing rush at NADRA’s main service centers, the action failed to gain significant traction. Officers attributed the limited reach of the program to inadequate public mindfulness. With the advertisement for the end of the service, NADRA directed all staff stationed at GPO’s to return the outfit and the collected service figure. Aspirants with ready- to- deliver National Identity Cards(NIC’s) are being given precedence to gain their documents before the final check of the counters, a decision that has affected about 83 counters in all four businesses and Azad Kashmir.

In Karachi alone, these services were being handed at 10 major post services, including I.I. Chandrigarh Road and Saddam GPO’s. A NADRA functionary said that utmost citizens were uninformed that similar services were available at post services. A NADRA prophet verified the development, saying that the installations at post office counters have been closed due to the extremely low number of aspirants for National Identity Cards(NIC’s). The outfit will be shifted to union councils in the coming financial time to increase the reach of the service.
