During the swimsuit phase of Miss World, Priyanka Chopra made it very clear that she did not want to walk in a “two piece,” and the organization respected her for that.
Even though she is now a worldwide celebrity, Priyanka Chopra came from very modest beginnings. Growing up in a middle-class family, Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra, stated in a recent interview that even though she was competing internationally for Miss World, Priyanka was always very clear about her appearance. She stated that the organization appreciated Priyanka for her refusal to wear a “two piece” during the pageant’s swimsuit round.
“Kahin bhi, uska conduct, priyanka ka behavior… “Two piece pehno,” they said, referring to the swimwear. Priyanka’s actions and behavior have consistently been spot on. Even during the Miss World pageant’s swimsuit portion, the organizers advised competitors to wear two pieces. “Na,” she said. Thus, she acted professionally while preserving her dignity. Ye nahi ki tantrum. There were no outbursts from her. Madhu told Lehren Retro, “They truly respected her aise kehne ke liye (for doing that).”
Madhu disclosed in the same interview that Priyanka was greatly influenced by former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen. Priyanka also benefited greatly from the assistance of her fellow Miss India contestant, Lara Dutta, who went on to win Miss World the same year. She learned how to walk, how to drape, and how to do makeup independently from Lara. so they had to complete it alone. Priyanka didn’t do anything but place kajal; she didn’t take part in all of this. Thus, Lara is yet another exceptional individual,” Madhu remarked.
