Reforms underway: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that the reduction in electricity prices is a big relief that has been provided to the consumers, the process of reforms is underway to further reduce electricity prices.

Reforms underway, According to Dawn News, while addressing a meeting regarding reforms related to the maritime sector in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the task force has worked hard for reforms in the maritime sector, it is hoped that the suggestions of the task force will be helpful for the improvement of this sector.

He said that electricity prices were reduced by an average of Rs.7.5 for each sector, and after many months of hard work, a huge relief was provided to domestic, industrial, commercial and agricultural consumers by overcoming all difficulties.

The Prime Minister said that the process of reforms to further reduce electricity prices is underway and better results will be achieved in the coming months. He said that with the reduction in electricity prices, exports and local production will become competitive for the development of Pakistan’s economy, which has become stable at the macro level, this will improve production costs, create employment opportunities and increase exports.

The Prime Minister said that we should make every effort to take advantage of the significant reduction in oil prices in the global market in the last three days. Proposals are under consideration in this regard, and we will soon present options in this regard.

He said that one option is that just as a few weeks ago, we did not pass on the reduction in oil prices to the public, and we had fully informed the public that we would give you the benefit of this in electricity and Alhamdulillah, that promise has been fulfilled. Similarly, we are also working in the context of the recent reduction in oil prices so that its benefit also reaches the economy and the people.
