TDAP corruption case, Senate Chairman and former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was cleared of all charges in three cases pertaining to the 16-year-old TDAP (Trade Development Authority of Pakistan) controversy by the Federal Anti-Corruption Court.
TDAP corruption case, As his attorney, Farooq H. Naek, made his arguments, Yousuf Raza Gilani appeared before the Federal Anti-Corruption Court in Karachi. Gilani was cleared of all corruption accusations by the court after it reviewed the case and ruled him innocent.
Gilani was charged with helping the suspects in the freight subsidy scheme while serving as prime minister, which is said to have cost the national exchequer more than Rs6 billion.
“The current ruling coalition government filed the case against me, but I have no grudges against anyone,” Yousuf Raza Gilani told the reporters following the verdict.
There are 42 cases in the TDAP corruption scandal, however Yousuf Raza Gilani is only connected to three of them. The trials of the other defendants will go forward.
