US Consul General expresses regret over Jaffar Express incident, meets Punjab Home Secretary

Jaffar Express incident: Noorul Amin Mengal, the home secretary for Punjab, met with US Consul General Kristen Hawkins.

Over the past year, law enforcement agencies have been equipped with modern equipment, 150-year-old laws have been modified to meet modern standards, and all criminal data has been made available online.

The Punjab Home Secretary added that 14 new checkpoints are being constructed for the security of the interprovincial border, the Crime Control Department and PARA are being established in accordance with contemporary standards, jail reforms have been extensively undertaken, and measures are being taken to rehabilitate inmates.

Regarding the regrettable Jaffar Express incident, the Punjab Home Secretary stated that he is in continuous communication with the Balochistani government and will keep thwarting the malicious goal of anti-national groups.

Additionally in attendance at the meeting were Additional Secretary of Internal Security Ehsan Jamali, Additional Secretary of Prisons Asim Raza, and Special Home Secretary Fazlur Rehman.
