Eid al-Fitr revealed: Egyptian and Emirate astronomers have issued their predictions regarding the possible dates of Eid al-Fitr.
Eid al-Fitr revealed, According to the Egyptian National Astronomical Organization, the Shawl moon is likely to be sighted in 30 cities around the world on March 29, including Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, Ankara, Tehran, Muscat, Karachi, London, Moscow and Ottawa.
According to Arab media, Egypt’s National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research has predicted that Ramadan in Egypt will last 29 days, with the last fast on Saturday, March 29, and Eid al-Fitr to be celebrated on Sunday, March 30.
Contrarily, Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, chairman of the Emirati Astronomical Society, says that according to astronomical calculations, Eid al-Fitr could be on Sunday, March 30 or Monday, March 31. According to him, the Shawl moon will be sighted in the Emirates on March 29 at 2:58 pm, but the moon will only be 3 hours old by sunset, making it difficult to see. If the moon is not sighted, Eid al-Fitr will be on Monday, March 31.
